StatMD
Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how StatMD Solution LLP ("we", "us") collects, uses and protects information when you use StatMD (the "Service").
1. Information we collect
- Account information — your email address, display name, and a securely hashed password (or, if you sign in with Google, your verified email and name from Google). We never store your password in plain text.
- Content you create — sessions, questions, polls and quizzes.
- Participant submissions — answers, votes and optional display names submitted during a session. Participants join without an account. If the host turns it on, participants may also enter a roll number / student ID or pick a team, used to score and group results (see section 8).
- Usage and log data — basic technical information needed to operate and secure the Service.
- Payment information — handled by Razorpay. We do not collect or store your full card or bank details.
2. How we use information
We use this information to provide and maintain the Service, process payments, keep accounts secure, provide support, and improve the product.
3. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run StatMD, and only as needed: Razorpay (payments), Google (optional sign-in), Render (hosting), Resend (transactional email), and Sentry (error monitoring). We may also disclose information where required by law.
4. Cookies
We use a single essential, signed session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
5. Data retention
We keep your account data while your account is active. Inactive sessions are automatically purged after about 30 days. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time.
6. Security
Passwords are hashed with bcrypt, traffic is served over HTTPS, and access to data is limited. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
7. Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us at statmdofficial@gmail.com. To delete your account and its data, see Delete your account.
8. Students, roll numbers & institutional data
Some hosts turn on roll numbers / student IDs and team names so a teacher can match scores to students (the gradebook). Where this is used, the host and their institution decide what to collect and act as the data controller for that information; StatMD only processes it on the host's behalf to run the quiz and show results. Hosts are responsible for having a lawful basis and any consent required under applicable law — for example India's DPDP Act, 2023 and the GDPR for users in the EEA — and for not collecting more student data than they need. You can ask us to delete session data at any time.
Educational use only. StatMD is a teaching and assessment tool. Quiz and template content is provided for education only and is not medical advice; faculty should verify accuracy before using it in assessment.
9. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13. Participants respond anonymously and are not required to create an account.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time; the "Last updated" date above will reflect any changes.
