What is StatMD?

Made for medical teaching — not a generic poll tool

StatMD is a live audience-response platform built for medical & pharmacology education by PharmaByMD. Run an MCQ during a lecture, a pre-test/post-test at a workshop, an AETCOM reflection word cloud, or audience Q&A at a CME — put a question on screen and the room answers from their phones, with results live. No app to install, and students don't need an account.

💡 Dr. Pooja Reddy — Professor, SAMC & PGI, Indore.
My guide and mentor, whose dedication to interactive, student-centred teaching — and her belief that every student in the room deserves a voice — sparked the idea behind StatMD. This work is built and dedicated to her with heartfelt gratitude.

FAQ

Questions teachers ask

How do I run a live quiz in class?

Create a free StatMD session, add your questions (MCQ, scored quiz, word cloud or Q&A) and project the screen — it shows a QR code and a join code. Students scan with their phones and answer, and results appear live. No app or login needed for students.

What questions can I ask medical students?

Anything interactive: MCQs during a lecture, a pre-test/post-test at a workshop, an AETCOM reflection word cloud, rapid revision quizzes with a leaderboard, or anonymous Q&A. StatMD also has ready-made pharmacology, biostatistics and MBBS-subject templates you can launch in one click.

How do I make my lectures more interactive?

Ask the room to answer from their phones. Drop a quick poll or quiz in every 10–15 minutes, show the live results on screen, and re-teach wherever the class struggled. Anonymous answers and Q&A help shy students take part.

Do students need an app or an account?

No. Students just scan the QR code (or type the short 4-character code) and answer in their phone's browser — no app to install and no sign-up.

Is StatMD free?

Yes — StatMD is free to start: run live polls, word clouds and Q&A with your class at no cost. Scored quizzes, larger audiences and department/institution features are on affordable paid plans.

Can I use StatMD for CME, workshops or conferences?

Yes. It works for large CME audiences, faculty development programmes, workshops and conferences — live polling, quizzes and audience Q&A with results on screen, plus attendance and results you can export.
